The best time to visit Vietnam depends on where you want to go and what activities you want to undertake. Because of its long and thin shape, Vietnam has a diverse climate, with temperatures changing from north to south. In general, Vietnam has two seasons: the dry season and the rainy season.

According to Seasons

Dry Seasons – November to April

The dry season lasts, with low humidity and colder temperatures in the north. The northern regions, including Hanoi, Halong Bay, Sapa, and Ninh Binh, are best visited during this time of year since. The weather is good and there is little rain. During this period, Central Vietnam, encompassing Danang, Hoi An, and Hue, is similarly dry, with lots of sunshine and comfortable temperatures.

Rainy season – May to October

With high humidity and significant rainfall in the central and southern regions, including Ho Chi Minh City, the Mekong Delta, and Phu Quoc Island. However, this is also the time of year when the rice paddies are lush green and the waterfalls are spectacular. If you don’t mind the occasional rain shower, this is still an excellent time to visit these locations.

Northern Vietnam

November to April is the greatest time to explore northern Vietnam, including Hanoi, Halong Bay, Sapa, and Ninh Binh. The weather is milder and dryer during this time of year, with temperatures ranging from 15-20°C (59-68°F) and little rainfall. March and April are exceptionally nice months, with blooming flowers and sunny skies. However, the northern mountain regions may get rather cold, so bring appropriate clothing if you want to visit Sapa or other high-altitude areas.

Central Vietnam

November to April is the best season to explore central Vietnam, which includes Danang, Hoi An, and Hue. The weather is dry and bright during this time of year, with temperatures ranging from 20 to 30 degrees Celsius (68 to 86 degrees Fahrenheit). The sea is tranquil, making it an ideal time to visit Danang and Hoi An’s beaches. However, typhoons and flooding are common in the central region from September to November. It is advisable to avoid visiting during this time if possible.

Southern Vietnam

From December to April is the greatest season to explore southern Vietnam. Including Ho Chi Minh City, the Mekong Delta, and Phu Quoc Island. The weather is dry and warm throughout this time of year, with temperatures ranging from 25 to 35 degrees Celsius. It’s a fantastic time to visit the Mekong Delta and Phu Quoc Island, which are renowned water-sports sites for kayaking and snorkelling. However, cities may get rather hot and humid, so remain hydrated and take rests in air-conditioned areas.

Prices and crowds

The main tourist season in Vietnam runs from December to February, when the weather is cool and dry. Popular sites including as Halong Bay, Hoi An, and Ho Chi Minh City can get congested during this season, and rates for lodgings and tours may rise. If you wish to avoid crowds, go during the shoulder season (March to May or September to November), when the weather is still pleasant but there are less tourists. this may be the Best time to visit Vietnam for you.

Festivals and holidays
