Agra is a popular tourist destination because of Marvellous Taj. It offers visitors a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage and architectural marvels of the Mughal Empire. With iconic attractions such as the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, and the tomb of Itimad-ud-Daulah, visitors can explore the city’s fascinating history and learn about its traditions and culture. While the city’s hot and humid climate can be challenging, travelers can make the most of their trip by hiring a local guide, indulging in local delicacies, and exploring the city’s bustling bazaars and markets. Overall, Agra is a must-visit destination for those interested in India’s diverse cultural heritage and should be experienced at least once in a lifetime. Agra is about 4 hrs. from New Delhi and similar from Jaipur. 

Best time to visit: from October to March when the weather is pleasant and ideal for outdoor activities and sightseeing. During these months, the temperature remains mild and comfortable,  However, it is also the peak tourist season, so it’s advisable to plan and book their accommodations and tours in advance to avoid any last-minute hassles.

12 km west of Taj Mahal and 8 km from Railway station. Taxi from ₹200 (pre book advised). Ola & Uber works here

New Delhi Airport / Indira Gandhi International Airport
check Delhi page for local transport. Trains: from ₹90(local) to ₹1500 (more info on Taj Mahal page). Bus: from ₹500 (state run buses prefered – UPSRTC). Taxi: from ₹2500 (one way) to 6000 approx (return).
 
Jaipur International Airport
240 km from Agra. Trains: from ₹110(local) to ₹1500 (check railways for trains and booking). Bus: from ₹300 (state run buses prefered – UPSRTC or RSRTC). Taxi: from ₹2500 (one way) to 6000 approx (return).
 

Agra Cantt Railway Station
About 8 km from Taj Mahal, Tuk Tuk, Taxi or Uber / Ola available from here from ₹100 – 250

Getting around

Transport
Local transport in Agra are Tuk-Tuks, electric rickshaws, fares are about ₹50 for 2-3 km. electric buses are available near Taj Mahal(no pollution zone) to reach last 1km for ₹10 per head. 

Buses to Fatehpur Sikri are available from State (UPSRTC) and tours by UP Tourism. it costs about ₹500.
