City

Athens is Greece’s capital and a popular tourist destination, famous for its rich history and ancient buildings such as the Acropolis and the Parthenon. These notable landmarks, as well as the city’s museums, marketplaces, and restaurants, are open to visitors. Athens has an extensive public transportation system that includes buses, trams, and a metro system that connects the city centre to the suburbs and the airport. There are also taxis and ride-hailing services such as Uber.

Best time to visit: The shoulder seasons of spring (April to June) and autumn (September to November) are ideal for visiting Athens since the weather is moderate, crowds are lighter, and prices are lower.
