City

New Delhi is the capital of India. It’s one of the fastest growing city, largest in India and one of the biggest metropolitan in the world. Also known as Delhi or Dilli, it has history of around thousand years.

The city is ruled by many dynasties over the year and also was overtaken by British, who constructed it as the capital of India. There are many more things you can do here, explore ruins, markets, parks, monuments and much more.




Getting In & Around

Getting in

Indira Gandhi International Airport
12 km southwest from city center. Airport Express: *₹20 – ₹60, Express Bus: ₹50 to city center. Prepaid Taxi: fare depends on distance. ticket issued from booth. Taxi: 400-500 metered (city center), Ola & Uber works here.

New Delhi Railway Station
Major Train Station, In the city center. connected to metro system, city buses and airport line. Trains across India. most of the fast and major trains runs from here. many public facilities are available, station is often crowded

Old Delhi Railway Station
It’s not far from the New Delhi station. Connected by Chandni Chowk metro Station. Serves many trains across India, mostly to north and central.India

Hazrat Nizamuddin
In southern part of Delhi. Connected by pink line of metro and Sarai kale Khan Bus Terminal nearby. Trains to many parts of the country. mostly trains runs towards south from here. Restaurants, ATM, public facilities are available here.

Anand Vihar Terminal
It’s the only Terminal Station in New Delhi. It’s on the east end of the city and connected by Blue and pink line of metro as well as Anand Vihar Bus Terminal. Trains to east and north part of the country. this station is relatively new and has many facilities.

Getting around

Public Transport
New Delhi public transport consists of Metro and city buses with Auto(tuk tuk) also local trains (not recommended for tourists). 
* Tickets in buses and Metro are different, but metrocards do work in many buses. bus tickets can only be bought from conductor for ₹5-15 in non AC green buses and orange cluster buses and ₹10-25 for Air Conditioned red buses. while metro fare is from ₹10-60.

metro offers reloadable card for ₹50 security deposit(refundable) and saves 10% on each trip. minimum reloadable amount is ₹100 at machines and ₹200 at help desk. for buses fare is 40 and 50. note: there is a process of integrating same metro card in buses are ongoing.

Auto rickshaw (tuk tuk) fare is ₹25 for 1.5 km + ₹9.5 per additional km. ask them to go with meter. often they ask fixed amount which is much more than what it should.

Tickets: *single ticket ₹5-₹60 depends on distance, **1 day ticket ₹150, **3 day ticket ₹300, Auto(tuk tuk) ₹25(first 1.5km)+₹9.5/km metered.
