Taj Mahal is one of the wonders of the world. It is a symbol of love, built by Mughal Emperor Shahjahan in memory of his late wife Mumtaz. Thousands of people worked with marbles from asia and europe, from 1631 to 1653 to make this masterpiece.
Entry to the complex is from East and West gates. Both sides have parking also park and ride electric trolleys. west side is the main city side and east side is quieter.

Arrival Guide
There is a domestic airport 12 km away from the Taj Mahal at Agra. New Delhi international airport is around 200 km north and is the most common entry point for tourists.

Take a Train
Indian railways run many trains on New Delhi to Agra route. mosts are sleeper trains passing by the city some are slower as well. we recommend you to check out Gatimaan Express (12050), Bhopal Shatabdi (12002) they reach in less than 2 hours. and cost about 500-1500(depends on class). Budget travellers can take Taj Express (12280) is a best option. its 2nd class ticket for about INR100 for 2.5hrs journey.further information and book a ticket on Indian railways website

Taxi or Uber
It’s going to be little expensive, we advise you to not to book a random taxi at airport. ‘Uber’ works in india very well, also ‘Ola’ is another option at similar price. as per today, INR 6000-7000 return (inclusive of tolls) looks a good price if you book a private taxi from New Delhi.

Local transport
Tuk-Tuks are available throughout the city. try to negotiate the price and do not overpay. At railway station, when in confusion, reach out to prepaid taxi/tuk-tuk booth.
Local traffic is not allowed within 1 km radius of the Taj Mahal. Get battery operated shuttle for INR 10/ person from parking.
