Getting in
Vienna International Airport: 15 km southeast of city centre
CAT(City airport train): €12/€11(online) one way & €21/€19(online) round ticket (to Landstrasse/Wien Mitte) buy online. CAT Ticket + City-Ticket Vienna  is also available. Suburban train(Recommended) S7: 2 tickets needed, 1 of €1.8 (extra urban)and €2.4 (in city). more info. Airport line express Bus: €8 (one way)/ €13 (round) (to central station, right side) every 20-30 min. Taxi: €36(airport Taxi) +€13 others (surcharge)
 
Vienna Hauptbahnhof: Central railway station, Connected by Red U1 metro (underground) also connected by Suburban trains and tram and bus stop are just outside of the station. Shopping and public facilities are available here.
 
Vienna Westbahnhof: It’s the terminal station and connects all the lines. very well connected with metro U3 and U6 underground line as well as suburban trains and trams outside the station. Shopping and public facilities are available here.

Public Transport
Tickets can be purchased at station windows and ticket machines and tobacco shops, also from tram and bus drivers with an additional charge of 0.2. make sure to validate it before boarding the metro as you can find ticket checker without the uniform on platforms.

Belvedere Palace

Hofburg Palace

St Stephen’s Cathedral

It is dated back to the 12th century, and is one of the most important and oldest Roman Catholic church of Gothic architecture in the country. Hence its one of the 10 best attractions in Vienna. It’s more than a hundred meters high and also gives a city view from the top of 343 steps.

Bratislava – 68 km from Vienna. takes 1 hour to reach. Bratislava is a capital city of Slovakia. this historical city is along the Danube an hour away from Wien. one can take a river cruise too. perfect getaway for spending a day or two out of the city.

Wachau valley – 90km, Wachau valley is east of the city and can be reached by river too. while one can enjoy the beautiful mountains and forts.

Neusiedler Lake – 50km, Neusiedler Lake lies south-east of Vienna, an hour away to the biggest lake in Austria. spending a day here is an awesome experience
